1. How many days do I need to explore Laos?

For a first visit, 5 to 7 days works well for Luang Prabang with time to add Vientiane or the surrounding countryside.

With 8 to 12 days, you can travel more slowly and include places such as Nong Khiaw, mountain landscapes, river journeys and smaller communities along the way

2. How many days should I spend in Luang Prabang?

We generally recommend at least three nights, and four if your schedule allows.

This gives you time to explore the old town and temples, visit Kuang Si Falls, experience the Mekong River and enjoy Luang Prabang without turning every day into a sightseeing schedule.

3. What are the best things to do in Laos?

Some of the most rewarding experiences include exploring the temples of Luang Prabang, cruising along the Mekong, visiting Kuang Si Falls, discovering local villages and traveling through the mountain scenery of Northern Laos.

The country is particularly enjoyable when cultural visits are balanced with time outdoors and a slower pace.

4. Is Laos worth visiting if I have already been to Thailand or Vietnam?

Yes. Laos offers a very different atmosphere from its neighbors.

Cambodia can also be added for travelers interested in a broader heritage focused journey through Indochina.
