The day begins with a visit to the Ho Chi Minh Complex, where you will see the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, the final resting place of Vietnam’s revered leader. A short walk takes you to the Presidential Palace, a beautiful example of French colonial architecture, followed by a visit to Ho Chi Minh’s Stilt House, which offers insight into the simple lifestyle of the man who shaped modern Vietnam. Before leaving the complex, visit the One Pillar Pagoda, an iconic temple known for its unique lotus-shaped structure.

After returning to the hotel, enjoy a hearty breakfast before we embark on our journey to Halong Bay, a breathtaking natural wonder recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994 and again in 2006. Upon arrival, we’ll complete the check-in process for our overnight cruise, ready to explore this magnificent seascape.

As we sail through the bay’s emerald waters, be captivated by the stunning limestone karsts rising dramatically from the sea. Along the way, we’ll stop to explore mysterious caves, take a refreshing swim, and unwind while admiring the mesmerizing sunset over the bay. As night falls, savor a delightful dinner on board, followed by an evening of relaxation under the starlit sky.

Today, you will embark on a city tour to explore the charming ancient town of Hoi An, a UNESCO World Heritage site renowned for its well-preserved architecture and rich cultural heritage. Stroll through the picturesque streets and visit iconic landmarks such as the Japanese Covered Bridge, the Chinese Assembly Halls, a 200-year-old traditional house, and historic temples. Immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere of the Central Market, where you can experience the local way of life and browse an array of handicrafts and fresh produce. Lunch at a local restaurant.

Hoi An Lantern Making Experience

Hoi An is famous for its beautifully crafted silk lanterns, which have become a symbol of the town’s rich heritage and vibrant culture. Today, you will have the opportunity to participate in a traditional lantern-making class, where skilled artisans will guide you through the intricate process of creating your lantern.

Your experience begins with an introduction to the history and cultural significance of these iconic lanterns. You will then choose your preferred lantern shape and select from an array of colorful silk fabrics. Under the guidance of expert craftsmen, you will carefully stretch the fabric over the bamboo frame, ensuring every detail is in place.

As you add the finishing touches, such as decorative tassels and ribbons, you will gain a deeper appreciation for this age-old craft. By the end of the session, you’ll have a beautifully handcrafted lantern—a unique and meaningful souvenir to bring home from Hoi An.

Great experience of a cooking class in Hoi An

We start the day with a welcome drink at Hai Café – our meeting point.

Visit Hoi An colorful market and experience the amazing sights, sounds, and aromas of this busy market. We will have the opportunity to interact with the local sellers and learn about all the ingredients to be used in the cooking lesson later.

We board a Red Bridge boat for a leisure cruise (25 minutes) along Hoi An River to the Red Bridge cooking school. This is a chance to view local life, so make sure your camera is handy.

On arrival, we will explore the Cooking School’s herb garden before learning about some of Hoi An’s and Vietnam’s well-known dishes. The cooking lesson runs for about 2 hours – the Red Bridge chefs first demonstrate each dish before we prepare the same dish ourselves. Included in the class is a brief introduction to Vietnamese food carving (plate decoration). After the cooking, we will eat what we have cooked.

Noon Gate in Hue Imperial Citadel

This morning, you will embark on a scenic transfer to Hue via the Hai Van Pass, one of Vietnam’s most breathtaking coastal routes. If the weather permits, you’ll be treated to stunning panoramic views of the coastline, with headlands and bays stretching into the horizon.

Upon arrival in Hue, enjoy a delightful lunch at a local restaurant before beginning your exploration of this historic city. As Vietnam’s former capital from 1802 to 1945, Hue is a treasure trove of cultural and architectural wonders, offering a glimpse into the grandeur of the Nguyen Dynasty.

In the afternoon, delve into the rich history of Hue with a guided tour of the Imperial Citadel and the Forbidden Purple City. This remarkable UNESCO-listed complex is a must-visit, showcasing the legacy of Vietnam’s imperial past through its impressive palaces, gates, and courtyards.

After breakfast, meet your guide in the hotel lobby and set off on a 2-hour drive to the historic Cu Chi Tunnels. This extensive underground network, stretching over 200 kilometers, served as a vital shelter and operational base for guerrilla fighters during the war. Explore the tunnels to learn the significance and the resilience of those who lived and fought there.

Returning to Ho Chi Minh City for lunch.

In the afternoon, continue your journey through its rich history and culture. Visit the War Remnants Museum, which provides a sobering yet insightful perspective on the country’s wartime struggles. Then, admire the French colonial architecture of the Old Post Office and the significant Notre Dame before driving through the Reunification Palace, formerly the Presidential Palace.

After breakfast, your guide will accompany you on a journey to Cai Be, a charming riverside town in the Mekong Delta. Upon arrival, on a boat explore the area, taking in the vibrant scenes of local life along the waterways.

Visit a traditional workshop where you’ll see firsthand how locals make rice paper, coconut candy, and pop rice. Enjoy a cup of hot tea paired with local sweets before continuing on a rowing boat through the smaller canals, where you can experience the tranquil beauty of the countryside.

Stop at a local garden, where you’ll savor fresh tropical fruits while enjoying the melodies of traditional southern Vietnamese folk music. Then, head to Tan Phong Island, where you can bike or stroll along village paths, passing by orchards, schools, churches, pagodas, and traditional homes. Along the way, visit local artisans who weave dried water hyacinth into beautiful handmade products like baskets, bags, hats, and shoes.

Tonle Sap – The largest fresh water lake in Southeast Asia

Enjoy your morning at leisure, whether it’s sightseeing, shopping for souvenirs, or capturing memorable photos. At the designated time, you’ll be transferred to the airport three hours before your flight to Siem Reap.

Upon arrival at Siem Reap Airport, you will be greeted by your local guide and transferred to your hotel for check-in.

In the afternoon, embark on a boat trip to Kampong Phluk, a fascinating floating village located 16 km southeast of Siem Reap. Accessible only by boat, this small fishing community offers an authentic glimpse into life on the Tonle Sap Lake. The village is home to stilt houses rising to 10 meters high, built to withstand seasonal floods and is surrounded by a lush flooded forest. This visit is available only from August to November when the water levels are ideal for exploration.

After breakfast at the hotel, set out to explore the ancient capital of Angkor Thom (12th century). Enter through the South Gate, flanked by impressive statues depicting the churning of the ocean of milk. Continue to the Phimeanakas, the Royal Enclosure, the Terrace of the Elephants, and the Terrace of the Leper King, each offering fascinating insights into Angkor’s grandeur.
