8:00 Begin your day with a scenic drive west of Hanoi to Duong Lam, a charming ancient village in the Red River Delta. Renowned for its well-preserved, centuries-old architecture, Duong Lam offers a rare glimpse into traditional Vietnamese rural life.
Start your visit at Mong Phu Communal House, located in the middle of the hamlet where the original village gate still stands. Continue to Mia Pagoda, home to an extraordinary collection of 287 statues, including revered depictions of Buddha and the Eight Vajra Deities. Next, explore the Ngo Quyen and Phung Hung Temples, dedicated to two of Vietnam’s most celebrated national heroes.
Wander through narrow alleyways to admire the village’s unique laterite houses, some over 400 years old.
Enjoy a traditional Vietnamese lunch in a local home.
In the afternoon, drive to the beautiful Tay Phuong Pagoda, one of Vietnam’s earliest pagodas. Climb 237 laterite stone steps to reach the pagoda, admire exquisite wooden architectural buddha statues, and striking sculptures of dragons and mythical creatures. Go back to the car and drive back to Hanoi.
